Violet is such a happy baby. If you look at her and grin, she will grin from ear to ear! It really melts my heart. She just adores Naomi and Rex and thinks they are so funny. She laughs and squeals at all their crazy antics. Violet will scream when she gets mad or upset if you aren't paying attention to her, and I shouldn't think it's funny .... but it really is funny! When she starts screaming it is so funny and cute. She is such a calm, sweet baby and my heart just bursts inside with all the love I have for her. She brings so much joy and happiness into our home. I am so grateful Heavenly Father blessed us with such a kind, beautiful girl. I just want to keep her my tiny baby forever. Time needs to slow down, but I am grateful for this time with my baby girl. We love you baby Vi. You are so very loved!

7 Months Old
Our baby Vi Vi has got to be the nicest baby in the entire world!! She seriously is the best baby .... except for sleeping ha. Violet is getting so big, but I'm trying to keep her my baby for as long as possible. She is rolling absolutley everywhere! She rolls all over the room and in the tub. Bathing her is actually a challenge. She is pushing her body up with her arms and will push herself backwards. Naomi and Rex both moved forward when they started to crawl, but this girl moves back. It's funny to watch her push back. I know she will figure out the crawling motion soon, but I'm guessing not for another month or so. She still doesn't have any teeth, which I'm thrilled about. She's nursing really well, and I'm glad I don't have to worry about any teeth biting me. Violet is eating rice cereal and the baby fruits and vegetables. I need to be more consistent in feeding her food, because all I've been doing is nursing her. I will feed her rice cereal every once in a while, but I haven't taken the time to do it on a daily basis. That's probably why she isn't sleeping super well because she is hungry and nurses me ALL night long. But I fed her cereal and veggies and fruit today so I'm hoping that makes a difference tonight .... because I'm soooo tired!!!

5 Months Old
Violet is growing up before my eyes!! She rolled over yesterday for the first time!!!! She has been really close the last few days, but she hasn't quite made it all the way over from her back to her tummy. Yesterday she was lying on the gym floor as I was getting my girls warmed up for practice. I looked over at her and she was on her tummy!! I was said I didn't see it for the very first time, but then she did it again after practice in Nana's living room. She is such a nice, happy, fun baby! The kids just adore her. Naomi tries to make her laugh every day. Sometimes she tries too hard and ends up mauling Vi, but Violet will still put on a grin and bare it. She's a nice little sister. Naomi can get her to laugh by clapping at her and sometimes blowing in her face. Sometimes Naomi blows too hard though, and I have to get after her a little bit. Overall though, Violet turns inside when her brother and sister pay attention to her. She is my little sidekick and goes everywhere with me! She will NOT take a bottle!!! That is really difficult since I'm so busy with volleyball. The solution to that is now she comes with me to all my things. She is at practice almost every single day, and has come to all of my coaches meetings as well. As long as she's with me and can eat when she's hungry, then she is a very happy baby. She loves to sqwuak like a bird. It's so cute and funny! She gets pretty loud and it just cracks us up. You can't help but smile when she starts squealing. Violet is our little ray of sunshine and I am so grateful for her sweet spirit in our home. We love you so much baby girl!!

2 Months Old
Our Violet Mae turned 2 months old! Time with her just keeps getting better and better. She is such a sweet baby and we love having her in our home. It's funny because at times it feels like she just barely was born and it's hard to believe she is 2 months old. But at the same time, I feel like she's been in our family so much longer than just 8 weeks. Violet still is sleeping a lot during the day. She is just starting to coo and makes adorable sounds with her voice. Naomi and Rex's faces light up whenever they hear Violet coo. They get excited and run over to her and started jabbering away in hopes of her cooing again. Violet is also starting to smile. It doesn't happen too often, but she is smiling more each day. It is usually right after she eats. We start talking to her and she slowly starts to grin. It melts my heart. Within the last couple of days, that little grin has turned into a huge smile. It is the highlight of my day to see that sweet girl smile at me.
There was one week where Violet had some rough nights. It usually happened right after I got the kids to bed. She would start fussing and just wanted to be held. It was like she knew the kids were in bed and it was her time for some attention. It was kind of frustrating because I couldn't get much done, but thankfully I could strap her into the Ergo and we would do the dishes together. Since then, she has been really good though.
Violet loves to be held, but she is not a huge snuggler when it comes to sleeping. She will snuggle with me sometimes, but other times she likes her space. I think we both sleep better too when she's in her pack-n-play instead of in bed with me. We have taken a few naps together on the couch though, and I just love when she snuggles up next to me.
This cute girl of ours has blow outs like no other! She has had way more blow outs than Naomi or Rex. And it's not like the poop just shoots out of the sides or top of the diaper. These are complete, full-on blowouts. She fills her entire diaper with poop and then it explodes all over her back and legs. It's really quite impressive. There have been 2 onesies so far that I haven't even tried to save. I just threw them in the garbage.
We had her 2 month wellness visit and that went well. She weighs 11 pounds 4 ounces, which is the 46 percentile. She is 22 3/4 inches long, which is the 60 percentile. And her head circumference is 15, which is the 42 percentile. She had to get 3 shots and she was so brave. She cried pretty hard for about 20 seconds and then she just quivered her lip and stopped crying. I hate shots, and it about broke my heart. But I know it protects them and keeps them healthy. She has been good since then and never got a fever. She is one tough girl!
Violet is our little sweetheart and we all love and adore her! There are some days where she is the only one that can get a smile out of me. I thank my Heavenly Father every day for sending us such a perfect little angel.

1 Month Old
The first month of Violet's life went so fast!! The first week Nana and Papa stayed at our house with us. They were a huge help to all of us. Papa restained our kitchen table, swept our garage, and was our chauffer to preschool and doctor appointments. Nana helped bath the kids and get them all ready every day. She cleaned the kitchen, did the laundry, and kept the house nice and clean for us. We were so sad to see them leave, but were incredibly grateful for all their help.
The next weeks that followed that went really smooth. Violet has been such an easy baby. She really only cries when she's hungry. At her 2 week appointment, the doctor wasn't thrilled with her weight and so he had us come back 2 weeks later to make sure she was growing. At that appointment, he was happy with her weight and that was a relief. Violet has been nursing well, but it took her some time to get the hang of it. She was a really slow eater at first, and that's why she was too small at her 2 week appointment. I was feeding her on both sides for 15 minutes, but she wasn't getting all that she needed. After her appointment, I let her nurse as long as she needed to make sure she was getting enough food. Most feedings would take between 45 min to an hour. It was a little frustrating to have the feedings take so long, especially when I have Naomi and Rex running around needing attention. But we pushed through those first few weeks, and she's doing much better now. Violet has been sleeping for most of the time this first month. She isn't awake for very long before she's back asleep. This has made for really good cuddle time with our sweet baby girl. Violet has been a dream baby. She is such a sweet angel, and we could not have asked for a better baby. We love our Sweet Violet Mae!

Violet Mae's Birth Story
The birth of Violet went very smooth! Nana and Papa drove all day on March 16 and got to our house at 12:30 AM. Bryce and I drove to the hospital at 5:30 AM on March 17 to be induced. We walked into our hospital room and saw that our nurse, Cathy, was the exact same nurse that helped deliver Rex. She was so nice and took great care of us. I was started on Pitocin at 6:30 AM. Bryce was really happy that it was the first day of March Madness for the NCAA men's basketball tournament. Around 9 AM, I started into active labor and was feeling intense pain! I tried to go as long as I could without an epidural, but I was getting to the point that I was out of breath and on the verge of crying because it was so painful. I asked for an epidural, but the anesthesiologist was busy with another patient. I had to wait 45 minutes until the doctor came in. I was so grateful to see the doctor walk through our door at 10:30 to give me an epidural. He could tell how much pain I was in, and did a tremendous job. It was the best epidural I have had yet. After the epidural kicked in, life was much better after that! For the next 3 hours Bryce and I watched the basketball tournament, ate popsicles, and visited with the nurse and resident. Around 1:45 I started to feel lots of pressure and I knew our baby girl was going to be here soon. The doctor and nurses came in and got everything ready to go. I gave one big push and baby Violet was almost here. I breathed in and gave one more push and Violet came rolling out at 2:05 PM! I remember seeing my entire stomach roll down and collapse as Violet came out. The doctor placed Violet on my chest right away, and we awed over our beautiful baby girl. The moment they placed her in my arms, I knew her name was Violet Mae. I have had a strong feeling from the moment I knew we were having a girl, that this should be her name. But once they placed her in my arms, it was confirmed. Violet didn't cry much when she came out. She had a calm, peaceful demeanor and she sweetly cuddled with Bryce and I. She was perfect!
Later that day, Nana and Papa brought Naomi and Rex to meet their new sister. They were both really sweet and kind to Violet. Naomi was interested in Violet, but didn't pay too much attention because Nana and Papa had bought her a new Princess Rapunzel toy set. Rexy was very intrigued and just stared at Violet in awe. It was so cute to see them interact with her. It was an incredible day. Bryce and I are so grateful Heavenly Father sent us such a beautiful angel. She couldn't be more perfect, and we love our baby Violet with all our hearts.
